Printed ephemera published by Paradise Press, owned and operated by Susan King, include greeting cards, postcards, broadsides, a business card and one poster. Two postcards that show her mother with a car advertise an artist's book by Susan King, Women and Cars. One card advertises a reprint of A Typographic Discourse from Jane Grabhorn's Typographic Jumbo Press of 1937. In Transit, Los Angeles 1976 is the first self-printed piece by Susan King sent as a postcard. One broadside is for the exhibition Big Brother is Watching, 1984 at the Women's Studio Workshop. A fan-shaped card with a poem about Saint Teresa is for Emigre magazine. One broadside, designed by Sheila Levrant de Bretteville, is called She and contains two poems by Martha Ronk Lifson. The oversize poster is called California Provokes Change (1985).

Born on February 19, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, Ronk received her B.A. in English from Wellesley College and her Ph.D. from Yale University in 1968. She taught at Tufts University (1967-1971), and currently teaches at Occidental College. Ronk founded Littoral Books with writers Paul Vangelisti and Dennis Phillips in 1990; co-edited the journal The New Review of Literature. Susan E. King is an artist, educator and writer who is best known for her artist's books. She received a B.A. in Ceramics from University of Kentucky and a master's degree in Art from University of New Mexico. She came to California to be part of the Feminist Art Program at the Woman's Building, where she held the position of Studio Director of the Women's Graphic Center.
